To think that we aren't just going "to the Moon," but rather traveling to meet it at an exact point in space... changes everything. It all comes down to orbital mechanics: arriving at the precise location, at the precise moment. One tiny error... and it simply doesn't happen

“Don’t blow your horn at old people” Fantastic!!!

Research that backs the saying “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.”
This study blew my mind. It found there’s ONE main key to earning a higher income. The study looked at kids from poorer families, and how they turned out as adults. Turns out, the number one indicator of their future income was not the socioeconomic status of their family. It was the socioeconomic status of the other people they’re around. This is called Economic Connectedness. What does that mean? Put bluntly, EC measures how many rich people and poor people are friends. When an area has higher economic connectedness, poor kids are more likely to make more money as adults. For example: • Minneapolis has an EC of 0.98. • Indianapolis’s is lower at 0.65. But… • Kids from low income families in Minneapolis reach the 43rd percentile of household income as adults. • Kids from the same background in Indianapolis only reach the 34th percentile. WHO you surround yourself with and WHERE you are has a huge impact on your monetary success. So we asked the question... Is it possible to be in the top 1% of earners without ever changing your environment? What do you think?

Most people passively consume life. They: Read, but never write. Scroll, but never post. Listen, but never think. They consume, consume, consume... And then wonder why they feel so empty. Truth is: You can't consume your way to fulfillment. It can only be created.

Great article by @rickwormeli2 about fair grading and how we still place too much value on compliance over competence especially when grading homework.
In case it helps the department, grade level, or schoolwide conversations, here's a piece from February of this year from the Washington Post about grading or not grading homework. Yeah, I wrote it, so you can ask questions, pose concerns, provide insights, rail at the education gods, etc with the author. If not here on Twitter, I'm also at rick@rickwormeli.onmicrosoft.com. washingtonpost.com/education…

Great post about the nuances of “relationships” and what they mean - even when we don’t particularly like the child we are educating.
"The most important thing in education is relationships." Okay, maybe but what do we mean by "relationships"? I have some thoughts. shareski.ca/y/4cs

The book Outlive by @PeterAttiaMD is remarkable. First off, I have no financial relationship to the book whatsoever. I love the book because it’s clear and actionable. It provides both data-based motivation and the protocols for specific ways to exercise, eat, do personal analysis etc. for mental and physical health. Outlive is the best book on human health that I am aware of.
