@NewHanoverCo firefighters rescued one subject from this residential fire yesterday. As units arrived, they were told that there was still someone inside. The members of Truck 17 and Engine 17 initiated a search of the structure and rescued one subject. @PFFPNC @pffpnc4th @NHCFR

Today marks 2 years since the loss of our dear friend and Local 332 member Karen Shuart to occupational cancer. We wish we could say that we have seen progress in terms of presumptive cancer coverage for firefighters in NC since Karen’s death, but we haven’t.

NC firefighters are first on scene for COVID medical calls and should be considered health care workers.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our brother, Engineer Michael Stanley. Michael was such a genuine and influential firefighter, and made a tremendous impact on us all. He will be greatly missed. We pray for his family during this hard time. Rest easy brother.
