ISEV is excited to announce a collaboration with the European Liquid Biopsy Society (ELBS) through the newly formed ISEV-ELBS Intersociety Working Group. Under the leadership of Caterina Nardella (
@CaterinaNardel1), An Hendrix (
@AnHendrix2), Carlos Salomon (
@cfsalomo) and Julia Burnier (
@jvburnier), the group aims to foster collaboration between the two societies with the goal of promoting extracellular vesicle research and its applications in liquid biopsy. The ISEV-ELBS group will work in close partnership with the ISEV Rigor & Standardization Subcommittee and the ELBS EV working group.
“As the leading society for more than 2000 EV researchers, ISEV aims in part to uncover
how EVs can be used to improve human health. Towards this end, EVs in liquid biopsies
hold tremendous potential in many clinical applications. The collaboration between ISEV and ELBS through the formation of this intersociety working group represents an important step, and we are excited to work together in this direction”, said Ken Witwer (
@KennethWWitwer), President of ISEV."
"The overarching goal of ELBS is the implementation of liquid biopsy into clinical
practice. This intersociety working group is of utmost importance to translate the exciting
discoveries in the EV research field into clinical studies demonstrating the power of EVs as liquid biopsy biomarkers for personalized cancer medicine. At ELBS, we are very excited to work together with ISEV to reach this important goal," said Klaus Pantel, Founder and current President of ELBS.
