MD of @BMArchaeology & drone pilot; love lithics, Prehistory, Industrial archaeology, photogrammetry, rugby and farming! Dug a C15th ship in Newport once too!
Big thanks to @BMArchaeology for the guided tour around the engine house compound. Truly amazing discoveries on the site: images show furnaces, flues leading to the chimney & rail track route. We had no idea quite how many remains we have been walking over these past few years!
The Newport ship, a 15th-century vessel recovered from South Wales, is due to go on display soon after the salvaged timbers have been restored bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-6415…

Our latest discovery from #Tintern Abbey, a tile of Richard, Earl of Cornwall, King of the Romans (b.1209-d.1272). Henry III, Richard’s brother, gave him Cornwall in 1225 as a 16th birthday present, and was elected King of Germany in 1257. @BMArchaeology@cadwwales@cadwcymru
