Trump saving the UFC is obviously a blatant lie they added to the Zuffa Myth.
I don’t mind the casuals that fall for it, but for some prominent MMA “journalists” to also push this lie is idiotic and irresponsible at best. More likely, it’s just more corrupt corporate shilling.
This is such an easy argument to win, so let's try an experiment.
Find any media article or interview with UFC execs written anywhere from 2005 to 2015 where they pinpoint Trump hosting a couple of shows in 2001 as pivotal or even relevant to the company's turnaround.
I've looked. They literally do not exist. The myth making starts in 2016 when White out of nowhere starts pinning UFC success on Trump, something he and Lorenzo Fertitta as well as every sports writer who talked to them somehow failed to mention ever ONCE until 2016.
