Happy Spring! A diversion due to problems on M4 means we're taking the scenic route to the South West on my @nationalexpress coach today. Very appropriate for the day after the spring equinox #windough

Love that this chain is full of people, like me, whose only reference for this word is the song in The Water Babies 😆

Word of the day is ‘cockalorum’ (18th century): a self-important individual who struts across every stage as though they own it.

In what seems like another lifetime, I met this colleague of friends - now his sister in Palestine needs help. It could've been any of us born to that life not this one, so if you've got any spare cash do click the link to donate.

The UN's aid chief describes Gaza as the worst humanitarian crisis he's experienced in 50 years. He makes two key points which should chill you. 1) The official death toll is likely a huge underestimate 2) In these circumstances, far more tend to die of hunger and disease.

A true and healthy democracy has an independent judiciary. That you fail to recognise this is the best reason our judiciary has to stay that way.
We are a reasonable country, but our patience has now run out. Our Parliament is sovereign, and it should be able to make decisions that cannot be undone in our courts. That’s what this emergency legislation delivers.

It can be hard to talk about grief and loss with children. Booklists from @Booktrust could help to open up those conversations: Books for 5 to 8-year-olds: booktrust.org.uk/booklists/g… Books for 9 to 12-year-olds: booktrust.org.uk/booklists/g… #GriefAwarenessWeek

There's no such thing as "non- medical consultants" delivering acute stroke care they're either medically qualified ( a medical degree and CCT in stroke medicine - 10 yrs training post qualification) or a danger to patients. Leave Cosplaying to cartoon characters / superheroes, not patients.
Sent to me, the answer to uncompetitive pay is not to recruit ‘non medical consultants’, it’s to pay fairly and competitively. If we allow this these people will eat our lunch (and breakfast and dinner). Join the BMA take action to defend pay.

If you left your Kindle in the tray of seat A/55 on a @GWRHelp train on Thurs 6th July, I've given it to the tea trolley staff so it should make its way to lost property eventually. Hope you are reunited with your book! 📚 #GWR #LostProperty
