ALT Billed as “Scotland’s Route 66” the route begins and ends in the “Capital of The Highlands”, Inverness and takes the traveller on a 516-mile route around the northern coastline. We have been keen to develop a tour based around this epic route ever since it was first announced, and this will be our fifth tour to this incredible place. ALT Spring Woodland in Dorset Photography Tour 25th - 27th Apr, 2023 Tutored by Andy Farrer Our Spring Woodland and Bluebell workshop will be led by Andy Farrer in his home county of Dorset. The workshop will centre around the spring woodlands as they begin to burst with new growth. The spring woodland flowers, wood anemone, bluebells and wild garlic are all photogenic and quintessentially English. The seasons have been a little harder to predict over recent years, but Andy will have scouted these local locations in advance of our workshop to seek out the most interesting venues. ALT A once in a lifetime photographic adventure taking us from Tantric temples to a natural paradise in the middle of the Brahmaputra river, from elephants and rhinos to fascinating tribes with unique traditions. Departing from the temples of Guwahati we will be visiting Tezpur, the oldest city of Assam, to then reach the Ziro Valley where we will get to know the Apatani tribe, famous for the facial tattoos and nose plugs worn by their women. ALT Experience the real Cuba, off the beaten track. Our tour takes in some of the best locations in Cuba to photograph. This 12-day tour will take you from the old town Havana, photographing the vibrant capital and its people, to the tobacco farming region of Vinales before travelling on to Cienfuegos where we will take our last leg of this tour by Classic American cars from the 1950’s to Trinidad, the jewel in the crown for street photography.

ALT It is more rugged that some of the other national parks, but that just adds to its charm. The Peaks have something to offer during every season, but especially so during the autumn months. The diversity of the scenery is highlighted during these transitional times, from sweeping moorland with decaying bracken to woodland full of ancient oaks or uniform birch. These can be intriguing subjects no matter the weather, but there’s always the possibility of mist or an early frost to add to the atmosphere.

ALT Our London photography workshop 'Black and White Photography in the City' will take place in April 2023 with Adrian Beasley. Learning to see in black and white is a challenge in a world dominated by colour, but if you can master the basics you can convey really powerful emotions with your photography. Without the distraction of colour to wow your viewer you rely on light, line, texture and expression in a much bigger way than in colour photography. That said an awareness of colour and its effect on the palette of grey, white and black is a one of the keys to success. During this workshop we will look at how to make strong powerful images using contrast and light to help guide the eye through your images as well as shoot a few challenges to get you thinking in shades of grey.
