As a med student who had 2 children during med school I'm often asked what kind of support I need, and besides the obvious like childcare, I never had a good answer. This elective at the University of Minnesota is the definition of support, all med schools should take notes.

I think medical students should hear more patient stories (or at least talk to more patients) so we don’t downplay the psychological toll that significant treatments can have on a person. A diagnosis alone can cause a significant impact.

I’m not sure if I’m posting this into a void, but I haven’t had a visit from The Big Sad™️ in about 7 weeks. That’s the longest I can ever remember. To the serotonin-sufficient folks: congrats, this is pretty nice.

I’m supposed to give some “talk” on wellness later today but I think I’ll just turn on my camera and cry for a few minutes, then I’ll take questions.

One of my professors was holding a review session and afterwards everyone held their animals up to the camera. My professor held up his dog and said "she's not very pretty" and I FORGOT MY MICROPHONE WAS ON and said "that's ok, neither am I" in front of 36 of my peers.

I would love to pet House. He is 8 years old and needs a home. House is terrified of men and has lost 2 homes because of it. He is not aggressive. He needs a home without men, dogs, or cats. House is sweet and calm. He is just looking for a woman to love. streettails.org/adopt
