Associate Professor studying post-transcriptional mechanisms of brain development and function at Scripps Research. The postings on this site are my own.
The Lippi lab is hiring a postdoctoral associate! We built new technologies to study post-transcriptional regulation in the healthy and diseased brain. We are recruiting motivated and talented scientists who will use these tools to discover new biology and new therapies.
This was a gargantuan but incredibly satisfying collaboration, which was critically supported by a BRAIN Initiative grant, among other funding mechanisms.
How fitting that the Preview of our Neuron paper was written by the one and only Roy Sillitoe @SillitoeLab. I saw him giving a talk at the 2018 Neural Development GRC, and his incredible data, storytelling, and enthusiasm convinced me to use Purkinje Cells as a model system.
Delighted to see our paper finally out in @NeuroCellPress! Together with Ian MacRae, we developed a new toolbox to study microRNAs and used it to find new mechanisms of Purkinje cell development. Please see the tweetorial from researcher extraordinaire @norjin_z for details.
✨So happy to see part of my PhD work with @lippilab out today in @NeuroCellPress! ✨
We developed new tools to study microRNA-target networks with greater spatial and temporal resolution and found neuronal subtype- and developmental stage-specific roles: cell.com/neuron/fulltext/S08…
My favorite part is finding cell type-specific post-transcriptional mechanisms that drive morphological diversification among neurons. For example, strong repression in Purkinje cells of genes expressed also in pyramidal neurons is necessary for exuberant arborization! 🤯
Congratulations Dr. Du @100jessduit ! The second student of the Lippi lab to successfully defend her PhD. Very proud PI. And of course, we celebrate in style. @UCSDNeuro
Excited to announce our upcoming symposium on Nov 13! 🎉 @_Chen_Ran_ and I can’t wait to host an incredible lineup of speakers. Don’t miss out - register now! 👉eventbrite.com/e/dorris-neur…
Big congrats to Prakruti Nanda @NakedNeuro , Federico Zampa @fedezampa and Julie Martone for receiving poster awards at the brain non-coding RNA meeting in Ascona. Well done!
