I was honoured to speak during the ‘Keeping It Rural’ Conference in Kelowna, BC. I highlighted Ontario’s #RuralOntarioDevelopment Program, as well as our 9 additional rural ec dev programs. A bonus was to hear another speaker endorse the value of Ontario’s #FirstImpressions program and the positive impacts it has already generated for BC rural communities.

🏀 We’re investing $330,000 in @MLSEFoundation to help nearly 2,000 children and youth across Ontario access affordable and inclusive sport and recreation opportunities. This funding supports organizations like @LibertyForYouth and their Prodigal Sonz program, which connects youth facing barriers with mentors through free basketball programming. It was great to join their Liberty & Justice Basketball event, where the Prodigal Sonz team took on the @HamiltonPolice All-Stars! 🔗 | news.ontario.ca/en/release/1…

Today the Municipality of #Kincardine launched Canada's first real-time beach safety signal that will help swimmers better understand hazards in the waters of Lake Huron. The Municipality says its Smart Beach Light will provide visitors to Station Beach with current swimming information throughout the summer. The initiative is part of Kincardine's Smart Beach program, which aims to improve waterfront safety through data, technology and public education.

Our government is making history by securing 640 megawatts of new clean electricity capacity through the Second Long-Term Request for Proposals (LT2), enough to power up to 640,000 homes. The new capacity resources will ensure direct economic benefits to local communities with at least 50% First Nations equity ownership, building a resilient, self-reliant economy, supporting jobs and energy security across Ontario for decades to come. Did you know @Bruce_Power is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026! I was honoured to participate in a local celebration this spring! Here’s to the PEOPLE, over the last 25 years involved in building a tremendous foundation from which clean reliable & affordable energy is realized; Here’s to the PARTNERSHIPS that have taken Bruce Power to new heights in both nuclear energy and cancer fighting isotope production; and Here’s to the POTENTIAL that lies ahead for Bruce Power to continue to lead by example as the world’s largest nuclear generation site that also generates valued partnerships and regional economic development opportunities.
Today, Bruce Power proudly celebrates 25 years of powering Ontario and the people behind it.   For a quarter century, our site has been defined by teamwork, innovation and shared purpose, delivering clean, reliable electricity while creating lasting opportunities for communities across the province.   On this anniversary, we thank our employees, partners, neighbours and leaders who have helped shape this journey. Together, we celebrate a legacy worth honouring and look ahead with pride and optimism for what comes next.   #25YearsOfPower #BrucePower25 #PoweringTheFuture

“The refurbished reactor, which had been approaching the end of its lifespan, will now generate enough electricity to power 800,000 homes for the next 30 years. Lecce highlighted the fact that 95 per cent of project spending stayed in Canada, saying there was no better “case study for a more deeply Canadian supply chain.”   lfpress.com/news/national/on…

Did you know the first Sunday in June marks Canadian Armed Forces Day and celebrates the contributions of Canadian military personnel, past and present - and the 47th Review of the #PortElgin Griffin Squadron #340 was a perfect program to recognize this important day. Captain Jackie Book served as the Reviewing Officer #340. Jackie is recognized by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in a Permanent exhibit as one of Canada's leading Women in Combat for her time in Afghanistan.
