At no time in modern history has the need for Made-in-Canada solutions to global challenges been more apparent than it is now.
Yet, China maintains a stranglehold on critical minerals — producing around 98% of the world's (low-purity) Gallium.
This specific critical mineral is a key component in semiconductor manufacturing and modern defence systems such as radar and advanced telecommunications.
That is why Ontario is backing @VoltaMetals to build out our domestic supply chain for these essential technologies — creating good jobs and positioning Canada as the reliable and democratic alternative to hostile regimes.

Earlier this year, I sat down with Governor Shapiro's team and the Pennsylvania Secretary of Energy to detail Ontario's plan to export our mineral and nuclear advantage.
While Ontario is leading North America's most ambitious nuclear expansion, governments all around us are turning to Ontario for our on-time and on-budget leadership.

At the Critical Minerals for Defence Conference, I promoted Ontario’s plan to repatriate value-added investment to our country, as global investors turn to Ontario as Canada’s best place to mine, process, and build.
