I appreciate the positive feedback on it being the best answer. It is saying that both translations represent valid biblical truths which is correct. However, the disagreement is not whether the Bible teaches both, but which one was originally intended in this verse and the answer to that was unequivocally in favor of the "robes" version.
I get that this ruffles feathers of some, but you can't attempt to provide honest, context driven answers from a Bible chat app like we are doing without stepping on some assumptions the Bible doesn't support. All you can do is try to generate good context driven answers and I'm very happy with this one because it pointed back to the broader context of Revelation to support the conclusion. It didn't just cover info based on textual criticism, but linked back to understanding the Bible within its own context which is what we are aiming for when answering questions.
As Christians I think we can all agree we have been washed by the blood of the Lamb. He has made our robes white and justified us just as the hymn we sing proclaims, "Nothing but the blood of Jesus... can wash away our sins". Throughout Revelation we see beautiful imagery of this central truth that all believers can join together in praise to the Lamb on the throne (Rev. 5:9).
