Hi @SpookedPod 👋🏼 I’m looking for an episode featuring Roberta Simpson Brown telling her story ‘Storm Walker’. I’m sure I heard this on Spooked but I can’t find it anywhere! Am I misremembering or looking too hard? Thank you for any help 🙏🏼

This is immense! If you haven’t signed up yet, you have plenty of time now. #CriticalUX is such a valuable learning and reflection event- it’s always had an immediate impact on my work. I can’t wait to see what’s in store this time around!

I'm doing cool stuff. Part time embedded in a government policy team easing them into upstream participation and co-design and part time worker-owner of a justice and equity centred design co-op called @fractalscoop. Everyone keeps asking what we do at fractals- here's a taste👇
👋 We're a new worker co-op made up of @Nimim @kierancutting @LockhartL and @Bates_oliver. Our shared interests in social justice, inclusive design, games, and speculative design brought us together. We set up fractals so we can work in ways that give us satisfaction and joy.

I finally started reading Information Activism- A Queer History of Lesbian Media Technologies by Cait McKinney. It’s really really great and I recommend it! Anyone else read it?

#CriticalUX is back! There are two conferences I attend every year and this is one. Fully remote, recordings provided and currently $15. To say Critical UX has influenced and challenged my practice is an understatement. If you actually do #SDinGov, this is unmissable.
Yo, it’s been a minute, but we back! And we’re so excited to announce our 2nd and * final * half-day event of 2022- Critical UX: Committing to the Future in Times of Crisis. Registration is open, so save your seat today: hmntycntrd.com/critical-ux-r…

If you can, step up and donate #ForTinu to meet her medical costs. 'My cancer medication retails for $493 a pill' and a $6,000 deductable are inconceivable notions to us here in Scotland. We all need Tinu well, no matter where we are in the world.
Replying to @Tinu

Replace 'scholarship' with 'government service design' and same same same. They're not called 'interlocking systems of oppression' for nothing. Shout out to gov colleagues to reflect on how your research and design approaches uphold 'objectivity'. See also: Civil Service Code 🙃

Nice read and discussion in thread. Good addition to a design researcher's/user researcher's toolbox, especially those focused on design justice principles, co-design, and equity centred design approaches.
There's been a lot of ~discussion~ on Academic Twitter recently about positionality, reflexivity, and ethics in qualitative research. This feels like a good time to remind quantitative researchers that this applies to *all* paradigms. [see our paper, psyarxiv.com/xvrhm/]
