Telling the @LoftyIncVC story is one that I have been proud to tell across this country and the #GlobalSouth. It makes me immensely PROUD. But I was reminded yesterday that I have to remember who I AM. I AM an investor who has been championing investment in Africa since

Every “overnight success” takes a few years in the making. We @LoftyIncVC backed @diveshnaidoo and his team at @Simulon back in early 2021 — and it’s been inspiring to watch them build quietly and patiently behind the scenes. Today, they step into the spotlight with their public launch — unveiling a next-generation VFX workflow built for creators, by Africans. The @LoftyIncVC team is in Conakry this week for Guinea FinTech Week 2025 and Lome next week. Because our work is not only about the big markets. Rather, our work (even just our presence) in the more nascent, developing, and emerging frontier markets and ecosystems is so super important. It is one of our founding ethos, and we must continue to do that work.
"Meet me in Conakry" from the Pacesetter series was my earliest introduction to Francophone West Africa covering the story of Sam and his friends traveling without papers across Senegal, Gambia, and Guinea Conakry and their gendarme encounters. Re-enacting that trip this week!

Join our Founding Partner @idrisayobello as he delivers the Opening Keynote at the 2025 edition of BigTech Africa in Tunis on Tuesday September 9! He will be sharing lessons from our journey at LoftyInc Capital where we’ve backed 150 bold startups across fintech, healthtech, climate-tech, and more. He will spotlight the transformative impact of African founders and why bridging Africa with global capital is essential to unlocking scale. Above all, he will aim to share a story of optimism and possibility: how Afropreneurs are rewriting the rules, how Tunisia is anchoring Africa’s global tech corridor, and why now is the time to invest in Africa’s greatest resource — its people.

I recently joined @BloombergTV to discuss the challenges and opportunities for venture capital in Africa. As I shared in the conversation, at @LoftyIncVC Capital we believe FX volatility isn’t a bug — it’s a feature. Africa’s “messy” markets? That’s just another word for alive. And while the world still talks about minerals, we know the continent’s greatest asset is — and always will be — its people. From navigating unpredictability to backing the next generation of Afropreneurs, our conviction is rooted in Africa’s resilience, creativity, and demographic strength. The future here isn’t just promising — it’s already in motion. 🎥 Watch the full Bloomberg TV segment here: youtu.be/9Dm81mZyP-s?si=gNJY…
