Yet another AI-impacts-key-biological-data-resource-gets-rolled-out-over-everything from @emblebi and @GoogleAI on protein annotation. It's like data to knowledge augmentation on a global/all of life scale. Brilliant stuff. Congrats to @uniprot team and @GoogleAI group.
Ever got a result back saying uncharacterised protein? 😩
@uniprot and @GoogleAI have teamed up to create a natural language processing model that has generated over 40 million protein annotations to address this challenge.

One of the things you'll discover is that the REST API is one of many ways to get access to this data.
Just like our colleagues at @ensembl, we recommend different methods depending on the size of the data.
