The Biden admin is "positioning" more than 50,000 courses of the antiviral for #monkeypox #TPOXX in jurisdictions across the US, adding to more than 22,000 already positioned. Whether people are actually prescribed the drug is a different question. Red tape hinders access.

A new paper about 181 cases of #monkeypox in Spain is in @TheLancet.
⭐️Key finding⭐️
The paper is the first to suggest that specific sexual acts are associated with the location of lesions--in particular, receptive anal sex is linked to proctitis.

Lessons learned from HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, and other communicable viruses, shaming does not work, introduces unwanted and unhelpful stigma, and can hinder disclosure out of fear. Stop doing this.
