The Tope Project created these Christmas dinners, not Lemn. It’s not about Lemn’s ‘movement’, it’s a memoir to someone we lost. Tope was a human who sadly took their own life because the loneliness they experienced at Christmas. Remember and honour Tope.

You may have heard about the Christmas Dinners. We are the board of Gold from the Stone, our mission is that no care leaver is alone on Christmas Day. We met up today, to work on expanding to even more towns and cities. @lemnsissay you deserve to be the proudest man alive for creating this movement.

I’d like to respectfully challenge. Manchester have already made Care Experience a Protected Characteristic. Their response to this was weak, with a nameless representative saying ‘they’d look into it’. Surely if it was any other PC we’d take legal action & stop using them?

At 13 I went into care. At 16 I was kicked out of care & went back to an unstable situation. At 18 I studied law at uni. At 25 I was called to the Bar. At 26 I secured Pupillage. In interviews, I took pride in who I am & where I come from. It’s what formed the advocate within me.

10 yrs ago I left teaching to set up @FrontlineSW to get thousands more children access to a great social worker and to build a network of leaders for change. Special to see so many staff, supporters, alumni and care leavers at the 10 yr anniversary who’ve made it a reality!
