I wouldn’t be cautious about ruling out stuff that runs completely counter to your values. Yes, we need a fresh look and yes we need to be clear and transparent about the mess the NHS is in, but that doesn’t mean abandoning core beliefs or indeed the purpose of the NHS
I’d be cautious about ruling stuff out this early. Notwithstanding merits of the issue, before you’re noticed you’re up the same claustrophobic cul-de-sac of policy overcommitment as your predecessor. I’d avoid the dopamine hit of “unequivocal”, and reserve judgement for a bit.
