I had a little part in this by adapting my sketchy shader and character framerate setup into their existing art direction. Scary game. I don't stop playing because I'm tired, I stop because the rattle is getting louder and I can't cope with that until tomorrow, okay?

Great tips on getting Unreal to do what's more trivial in Unity shaders. (like inverted-hull outlines) Cool look too! And like my toon shader it doesn't require post process or a custom render pipe so it can live side by side with photoreal assets in the same shot.

First try at some stop motion. Pretty happy with the feet at least. Now if there was a way to redo just the arms, maybe apply a clean curve to the torso...someone should invent a way to animate using a computer

I mean, there's lots of reasons to use a proper mount, but you could do that by strapping the headset to a mount and still get your inside-out mocap. Attach a phone or tablet for your viewfinder. (The different devices are using multiplayer code to sync)

Use VR controllers for the hand grips and you'll get access to your teleport/height/scale/lens controls. This hand gesture prototype does all that but it's clunky because the pinch detection is pretty flaky when trying to do hold-to-drag.

It's hilarious that blockchain fans can't explain blockchain in a sentence. It's simple: a secure database without anyone in charge. To achieve that it requires a world-destroying amount of energy to update and always will. And nobody has ever thought of a good use case.

Just wasted an hour in Last Of Us 2 restarting the bloater fight every time I got grabbed in the insta-death animation, each restart spending minutes circling and doing huge damage to no avail, only to find out it's a forced fail that you have to watch to progress. Unforgivable.

Lots of ways to have the beat without breaking UX, one must be an easy change Disable pause during the anim Checkpoint the anim start so a restart begins with it Show "tap square" UI during anim Flag as cinema so pause shows "skip cinematic" instead of "restart checkpoint"
