Rasheed will be deeply missed by those lucky enough to know him. His professional legacy will live on for decades to come. It's impossible to overstate the impact he had during the 7 years he worked at CAP.

When I got to CAP I felt really lucky to have a familiar face from grad school there in Rasheed. But that underestimated my luck by many orders of magnitude. There are so many things to say about how kind, unpretentious, & smart Rasheed was — he truly was an outlier in those ways

Can't wait to dig in. @StephenBurd2 was best teacher a new reporter could ask for when I arrived @chronicle. Any question about student aid I'd visit Steve (or to talk ⚾️). I'm sure I'll disagree at times now as a college trustee, but few care more about access than Steve.
