What's the conservative plan for the #studentdebt crisis? -Tripling or quadrupling monthly payments -Blocking cancellation for public service workers and those enrolled in IDR plans -Allowing interest to snowball
NEW from @CAPHigherEd's @spartridge_phd and @madisonweiss94: Project 2025 would increase student loan payments by thousands of dollars every year. americanprogress.org/article…

Rasheed will be deeply missed by those lucky enough to know him. His professional legacy will live on for decades to come. It's impossible to overstate the impact he had during the 7 years he worked at CAP.

When I think of who I want to be as a person, I think of how empowered and supportive Rasheed made me feel. This is not the most eloquent writing I’ve done, I just hate this so much. You’re my boss, my mentor, and my friend @ramskull and you’re gone way too soon.

When I got to CAP I felt really lucky to have a familiar face from grad school there in Rasheed. But that underestimated my luck by many orders of magnitude. There are so many things to say about how kind, unpretentious, & smart Rasheed was — he truly was an outlier in those ways

The outpouring of love & remembrance today is a testament to @ramskull as a researcher & staunch advocate for a brighter future where children & the people who care for them can thrive. He has left an indelible mark. Rasheed is a turning point person in the course of my life.

In period before his assassination, 63% of Americans disapproved of Dr King’s protests. The NY Times editorialized against his “slander” against U.S. because of his anti war position, and accused him of being disruptive. We know today that provocateurs were planted in his rallies
I have trespassed in peaceful protest. I have shutdown govt offices in civil disobedience. I have made the powerful uncomfortable in their routines as I’ve dissented in peaceful but committed disorder. Those are the American traditions of Thomas Paine, David Thoreau, Rosa Parks

Can't wait to dig in. @StephenBurd2 was best teacher a new reporter could ask for when I arrived @chronicle. Any question about student aid I'd visit Steve (or to talk ⚾️). I'm sure I'll disagree at times now as a college trustee, but few care more about access than Steve.
