Ukrainlanna võitis venelannat vehklemises 15/7, kuid keeldus pärast kätt surumast. Venelanna nõudis seda, istus ukrainlanna juures 50 min. Ukrainlanna jäi endale kindlaks ja diskvalifitseeriti. Sel teemal on täna Twitteris postitanud mitmed nördinud ukrainlased.

I am absolutely outraged by the decision to disqualify Ukrainian saber fencer Olga Kharlan from the world championship for refusing to shake hands with russian competitor. We do not shake bloody hands of the murderers.
