Out of all the pundits available, why do we always get stuck with the likes of Lee Dixon and Danny Murphy

Spain's World Cup experiences since they won it in 2010 is perfect retribution for what they subjected us to that tournament.

Curious that the 'hydration' breaks that definitely aren't designed to crowbar adverts in, are 3 minutes long, when the average commercial break is 3 mins long. It should take no more than 90 seconds to get everyone a drink if the temperatures demand it.

These ads are getting wilder by the day. It looks like it’s turned into an ITV crime drama based in Cornwall

Can’t help but find it funny that FIFA have brought in a 5 second restart rule for throw ins to speed up the pace of the game whilst also implementing two separate three minute water breaks in each match so adverts can be mainlined into people’s eyeballs.

As expected, FIFA is filling empty seats with ticket giveaways.
"As with previous major sporting events, organisers run thank-you initiatives to show their appreciation for volunteers and staff. "We are delighted and proud to be able to do the same, by offering our wonderful volunteers the opportunity to watch a FIFA World Cup match today in style."

They had 1 moment so that’s nice for them but one of the best teams in the world vs what is basically a Dutch C team doesn’t feel very World Cup worthy. It could have been 10-1 as well quite comfortably.

That Gianni Infantino unilaterally altered the structure of football matches is deserving of so much more anger.

During the Qatar vs. Switzerland match in the San Francisco Bay Area, a brief technical outage prevented the onside animation graphic from being generated ahead of the penalty awarded to Switzerland in the 14th minute. The issue was quickly resolved. The workflow of the VAR was not affected by this issue and followed the normal procedure in checking the on-field decision. The lines used by the VAR to check the position of the relevant players did not show the attacking player to be in an offside position in either of the two situations immediately before the penalty decision.
