We have a strong policing plan to ensure everyone in Tower Hamlets is kept safe during Ramadan.
ALT During the month of Ramadan, local police officers from Tower Hamlets will patrol with Council Enforcement Officers each evening in Whitechapel. In addition, we have a wider policing plan that includes reassurance patrols around mosques and places of worship across the Borough to ensure that everyone can observe Ramadan safely and peacefully.
These joint patrols are in place to offer reassurance, support community safety, and remain visible to residents and visitors.
I am determined that those who live, work, and visit our Borough can do so safely.
Those of every faith - and none - deserve the same universal respect and will be treated equally. If crimes are committed then we will take swift and decisive action, however every officer can and will use their discretion to handle each situation proportionately. We will police without fear or favour.
If you see our officers out and about, please feel free to speak with them; we are here to support you.
Detective Superintendent Richter
