I was very honored to receive the @USNI US Naval Institute “Author of the Year” award at Annapolis yesterday for my book, RED TIDE. 📕 (Pictured here with Admiral Ray Spicer, my wife Stacia, and others from the @USNIBooks staff). The premise of Red Tide is a PRC blockade of Taiwan to seize chip foundries. Today’s WSJ editorial by Benard and Feith of @HudsonInstitute nails the strategic stakes in the context of tech dominance, the real prize when they write: “…control over Taiwan would give Beijing both a military advantage and a chokehold on the physical infrastructure of the AI age. China wouldn’t need to operate every plant flawlessly to throw the global AI ecosystem into crisis. The mere prospect of coercive control, disruption or selective access would upend the balance of technological power.” Highly recommend you read this excellent article!
