We just bundled a few more TypeScript improvements into the upcoming v7 release. You can try it out with version 7.0.0-pre.2.
We'll probably mark these changes as latest at the end of August if there are no issues. Give it a spin and let us know what you think:

Hey folks, we have a very small breaking change coming up as mobx-state-tree@7.0.0-pre.1. Most users will be unaffected by this, but if you'd like to weight in, we have a GitHub discussion open.
Our plan is to mark v7 as `latest` in about four weeks from now barring any issues.
