Useful when assessing old paintings to make flaking stand out and repairs can show different brushstrokes than the majority. When I was a kid an instructor told me to look at my work from the side to see something about it but that memory must have been on some lost braincells

Reminds me: When my fabulous grandma, Helen Zielinski Reed (upper right), died there was a rush on claiming stuff from her trailer. My also fabulous mom pulled the good stuff out of the trash for me: hotel shampoo & lotion, Welcome Back Kotter notebook, plastic Jesus, etc.
