Jesus challenges us with themes of preparation, purification, justice, and reward, and provides a profound roadmap for personal and communal transformation. Jesus invites us to see our trials as opportunities for growth, to strive for justice in all we do, and to live in anticipation of a life filled with divine blessings. As we navigate our modern world, fraught with its own complexities and challenges, the messages of Jesus resonate as a beacon of hope, urging us towards a life of integrity, readiness, and profound personal refinement. Let us embrace this journey, not just for our own sake but for the salvation of the world around us.

I think folks who do discernment ministry need to be careful not to push too hard. If it starts feeling like cancel culture, people are going to push back because they don’t like bullies. We’ve already seen this in the political and social arenas. Choose your battles wisely.

“The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. The LORD sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. ‘For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s; on them he has set the world.’” (1 Samuel 2:6-8 NIV)
