What people need to understand concerning the Karmelo Anthony situation is that you can't verb an adjective. In other words, you cannot make something that is an innately static and immutable characteristic of one's personhood, namely skin color, into something that is dynamic and mutable. No one's melanin "causes" them to do anything, whether good or evil. No one murders someone "because" they are black or white or brown-skinned. They murder because they desire in their heart to do so (Mark 7:14-23). Melanin does not reason. It does not discern. It neither judges, determines, nor comprehends. To argue otherwise is to attribute motive and intent to that which is inherently incapable of producing motive and intent. It is the human heart that is, and has always been, the problem.
