I'm old enough to remember when Alec Stewart held the ball in his gloves for a few seconds before stumping Brian Lara. Weird that so many English fans seem to think the ball is dead once it's in there.

Bit lost in all the finals stories from last weekend, but gotta say - in an awful year for the Titans, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui has been a shining light.
Guy played front row for the full 80 mins, 25 runs for 257 metres (118 post-contact), made 35 tackles and even a try assist. 🙌

Lots of nonsense about this tackle not being enough to cause a concussion. Kostya Tszyu used to say the sweet spot for a knock out was the base of the jaw right beneath the ear…and that guy knew a thing or two about turning out the lights. See the slowmo ⬇️

Plenty of talk about the mechanism of Kalyn Ponga’s concussion last night - watching the replay it wasn’t as innocuous as even I first thought. Head into ground a factor but tackler’s forearm did end up catching & shifting the side of the jaw - very vulnerable point to KO’s

I’m no fan of Fittler’s coaching, but how was this an “unloseable” series? Look at the match-ups across the park position-wise, there was nothing between the teams (and that’s how most of the series played).
Perhaps assuming NSW was the superior team is the heart of the problem?

Mark,criticism was warranted. NSW had just lost another “unloseable” series with some questionable selections.
