A friend of mine just got the Optus email. She signed up at 14, is not a current customer. So why, after over 6 years, is her data still held by Optus?
Noting here that the 6 year time frame appears to be entirely arbitrary and not based on an actual law. The law requires 2 years. This is all information I have from a lawyer friend, who is a privacy expert.
