Can't overstate how disappointed I am by this. I have been using iNaturalist for years and contributed tens of thousands of IDs to the community. If iNaturalist decides to push through with this, I might genuinely consider deleting my account even though it will break my heart.

Last week, one of my pet birds became very, very ill. He had a constant gagging reflex and could not stop vomiting. We took him to the vets to get some x-rays, which revealed an abnormal growth in his stomach likely caused by cancer. While his condition doesn't seem immediately /

life-threatening, treatment is unfortunately not possible. I have no idea what his life expectancy is, could be weeks, months or years. All of this has left me genuinely sick of stress and I can only hope he can live out the rest of his life without too much suffering

Identifying Chrysis ignita group species is challenging, they often look much alike and characters used to differentiate species are very subtle. Here, I've made an effort to compare C. vanlithi to more "typical" members of the ignita group:
Finally figured this one out: it's Chrysis vanlithi (Linsenmaier, 1959), a species known from a select few localities in the Netherlands (no recent records) and as far as I'm aware not yet reported from Belgium.

I also collected Chrysis mediata from the locality. The first specimen (left) has the mesosoma unusually dark, which made me suspect it might be C. mediadentata instead. The second one (right) does seem to have typical coloration though.
