The advice to not use camera angles in your screenwriting is solid. But not because you shouldnāt direct on the page.
It's because camera angles are technical, clunky, unemotional,
and uninteresting to read.
And there are much better ways to direct on that page than that.

1. Let a well-chosen verb do the heavy lifting.
2. Use gerunds only w/ intent, never out of laziness.
3. One idea or visual per paragraph.
4. Lean into simple, clear, purposeful sentences.
