This purposefully misses the crucial detail of what I said at FMQs, which is that the statutory duties for councils to provide TEMPORARY accommodation mean that illegal immigrants must be housed ahead of locals waiting on the list for PERMANENT accommodation.
Scotland’s Housing Secretary has condemned what she called 'misinformation' on refugees as she hit back at claims 'strangers' were being put before Scots thenational.scot/news/261905…

A reminder that BBC Verify looked into it during the election campaign. You can read their explanation of the issue I was raising here: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly0…

Becoming a shadow energy minister in 2024 opened my eyes to the sheer disaster of Net Zero. But when I spoke out against it, the Tories who created it closed ranks. It's one of the main reasons I joined Reform - it's the only party serious about about industry.
High energy costs and net zero policies are killing off our industry.

Forget Makerfield, the real drama’s in Arbroath, where the SNP candidate is putting on a fake Scottish accent! The choice is Gaza activist lawyer Pyla Bird-Leakey, now going by Lara Bird. Or Reform’s Bill Reid - farmer, soldier, entrepreneur.
Since becoming the SNP candidate for Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, @larabirdsnp’s accent does seem to have found a noticeably more Scottish setting. Funny what an election campaign can do to the vowels.

Bill Reid was raised a farmer, retrained as a surveyor in the Army, then retrained again in finance, setting up his own business. With a wealth of real experience, he's by far and away the best candidate to be MP for Arbroath and Broughty Ferry.

Immigration may be reserved to Westminster, but social housing is devolved. I asked John Swinney directly if he would stop the loopholes resulting in new arrivals being put ahead of locals. This was his response:
Malcolm Offord asked John Swinney whether he would give back to Scottish councils the power to put locals first, like they do in England. Unaccountably, he refused to answer.

They throw around your money like it’s their own. It’s a worthwhile cause, but John Swinney should withdraw this donation from the government, and instead donate a sum out of his OWN pocket. If he does so, I’ll happily match whatever he personally donates.
BREAKING: The Scottish Government has made a £400,000 donation to a Scottish football fan who is walking 3000 miles across the United States Craig Ferguson aims to make it to Boston ahead of Scotland's first game in the World Cup and raise £1 million for a mental health charity

How strange! I’m always pleased to meet young Scots who show ambition. Hope she’s doing well for herself since leaving politics and our sparring at the Scottish Affairs Committee.
Mhairi Black said she had one encounter with Malcolm Offord - and felt he "hated" her for being a young, gay woman 'How could a man who's never met me be so viscerally angry about my existence?'

Today I challenged the SNP Government on massive delays to the A96 dualling - particularly the Nairn bypass. The response of the Transport Secretary was hyper-partisan, totally flippant and ultimately contemptuous to local people. Fergus Ewing has been a stalwart on the A9/A96 roads. I will do my best to follow his example in always standing up for Highlands.

Isn't it time for the First Minister to now reveal his cunning plan for another referendum, or has Peter Murrell stolen that as well?

This is perhaps the most moronic comment I have heard on energy yet! Reform by backing oil & gas and by backing Rosebank/Jackdaw and new drilling is somehow going to “drain the north-east of its energy wealth for the benefit of people in England." But the SNP by still clinging on to the presumption against new oil and gas and still not fully backing new projects like Jackdaw and Rosebank or new drilling licences is somehow good for the area. Clown comments from a clueless candidate who in a sane world should not be anywhere near Westminster. pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/pol…

Exactly this 👇 The SNP had an opportunity to become an unambiguous cheerleader for our oil & gas industry. Instead they have opted for a mealy mouthed & legalistic approach saying they support new projects but only if they pass so-called ‘climate compatibility’ and ‘energy security’ tests. This ensures further uncertainty and legal challenge that will leave vital projects tied up in endless delay and litigation. We need to recognise that oil and gas remains essential to our future and to fully back the North Sea — including clear and unambiguous support for projects like Rosebank and Jackdaw, as well as new drilling and licensing.
“Climate compatibility tests” is just SNP code for: “We still want your votes in Aberdeen while quietly strangling the oil industry.” The Greens at least admit they want North Sea oil dead. The SNP pretend to support jobs while designing a ‘test’ deliberately built to fail.
