40 years ago today I left my home with a carrier bag of clothes and my 11 month old son and moved into a Refuge. It was the turning point from victim to survivor.

The risks that perpetrators pose must be fully understood, especially when it comes to child contact which is often used by perpetrators as a way to continue their campaign of abuse. We must ensure we are protecting children from unsafe contact. theguardian.com/society/2024…
