Enjoyed talking at the Harvard Kennedy School at a conveying of mayoral Chief of Staff from America's 35 largest cities. Even with a housing crisis, cities must implement housing-based, long-term solutions to homelessness that can be implemented with success today, not tomorrow.

Last Friday, joined @SylvesterTurner as he hosted @MayorOfLA and @ChicagosMayor in Houston to share and discuss solutions to homelessness. Big impact can be made when cities and counties come together to uplift a single, united housing-based strategy. @USICHgov @naehomelessness

A week before his inauguration, @MikeJohnstonCO visited Houston to meet with @SylvesterTurner and learn about housing-based solutions to effectively reduce homelessness. Housing 1,000 people by the end of the year is bold, but achievable goal. You can do it Denver!

Houston is at the forefront nationally of enacting a holistic solutions to encampments. Proud to work for a Mayor (@SylvesterTurner), city, and community dedicated to solving the issue of encampments through the best practice of housing, rather than just pushing folks around.

During the last decade, Houston, the nation’s fourth most populous city, has moved more than 25,000 homeless people directly into apartments and houses. This week LA Delegation came to learn how we cut our homeless population by 63 percent since 2011.

Members of our homeless outreach teams and shelters are front-line “first responders” too. That’s why I’m proud that @SylvesterTurner is making it a priority that they are equipped with the PPE they need to stay safe and help the most vulnerable among us. #COVID19
