On August 22, 1970 Jimi Hendrix worked with Eddie Kramer at Electric Lady Studios and prepared mixes for numerous songs that he intended for possible inclusion on FIRST RAYS OF THE NEW RISING SUN. Including a new mix of "Straight Ahead" which replaced the August 20th mix they recently completed, they also prepared mixes for "Ezy Ryder," "Night Bird Flying," "Drifter's Escape," "Astro Man," "Power Of Soul," "Bolero," "Come Down Hard On Me," "In From The Storm," "Bleeding Heart," "Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)," "Message To Love," "Midnight Lightning," "Beginnings," "Drifting," and "Cherokee Mist (Valleys Of Neptune)." Hendrix also furthered recordings of "Dolly Dagger" plus demos of the new song "Belly Button Window."
