Medical schools have a social accountability to meet the needs of the communities that they serve. We need generalists - but our MD programs are primarily located in tertiary centers, with a specialist philosophy of care. Just maybe, the system is the barrier.... #ICAM2023

This is how you know who is valued in your organization. Whose stories are believed? Whose complaints are responded to? Who is paid the most? Who is given multiple chances? Whose bad behaviors are not addressed? Who benefits from organizational policies?

This infographic shows that primary care is the foundation of our healthcare system. We must support it seriously or care will crumble and costs will climb. This is already happening. For a plan that includes other vital care team members see albertasfuture.ca/albertas-f…

On #PresidentsDay, it is important to recall that at least twelve U.S. presidents enslaved Black people, eight while in office. Two-thirds of the first 18 presidents collectively enslaved nearly 2,000 Black people. We know what largely built this nation, and it wasn’t freedom.

Diversify the curriculum all you want. Even refer to it as "decolonizing the curriculum" but at least don't claim this alone transforms material conditions of domination if the pedagogy used & knowledge attained is not praxis-oriented. You can't read your way out of coloniality.

This is pure misogyny. Woods is signalling his lesser competitor menstruates. The premeditation he put into this removes all doubt of his sexist intent.

33 years ago tonight, 14 women went to bed thinking about their finals, future in STEM and the upcoming holiday season. They didn’t know that these dreams threatened a man’s sense of self worth and that they wouldn’t survive to see their goals and aspirations become a reality.
