Quick spiel because this is something that’s honestly bothered me since starting my voice acting career 😤 This situation reminds me a lot of music. Sometimes an artist experiments with a different sound because they enjoy creating and exploring new sides of their craft. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea ☕️ and that’s completely fine but that doesn’t mean the artist deserves hate for it. Voice acting works the same way. Trying different tones, energies, and character types is literally part of the job. Something being playful, flirtatious, dramatic, dark, silly, or exaggerated doesn’t suddenly define who someone is as a person. It’s acting! I actually thought the dub sounded great! And as a fellow VA, it’s genuinely encouraging to see other creators explore different sides of their range. A lot of us already feel nervous about stepping outside the box people expect us to stay in 🫠 What’s frustrating is how comfortable the internet has made people with tearing creators down. It’s easy to say whatever you want when there’s a screen between you and the person you’re talking about. Something I learned from childhood: if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all and honestly that advice still holds up. Not everything has to be for everyone and that’s okay. But artists experimenting with their craft shouldn’t be something people get attacked for. Keep doing you Meggie!! It sounded awesome👏 😍✨

Dear creative, You're exhausted because you're trying to create art that earns you a seat at the table while also trying to prove you deserve to be here. And you're right. You're not invited because you are not here to fit into spaces. You are here to CREATE them.

im just here to remind you you're better off doing ANYTHING else you can think of instead of scrolling scrolling damages emotional regulation, attention span, memory, ability to do rewarding tasks in life, and unironically, your iq, it shrinks the gray matter in your brain it abuses the chemicals that make you happy by draining them, leaving energy for nothing else it makes you anxious by overwhelming you with so much content that you couldn't possibly process it all, no human could it tricks you into thinking you're self-soothing with the constant dopamine hits, you're not, you're sedating yourself to what's easy as the inner you knows the truth and that's exactly why it feels so shit you know you're harming yourself and creating excuses as to why it's actually okay or fine they are poisoning you. they invest billions to poison you more efficiently you have to get yourself out of this. there is no magic day everything changes IT HAS TO BE YOU or else you're gonna be old and dying and regretting your entire life social media is cool BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE MINDFUL AND SMART ABOUT IT !! there is no oh next time if you say that everyday and years pass . the past literally nothing more than a memory and the future is just a prediction you've made up in your head THERE IS ONLY RIGHT NOW You are alive and you can do literally anything you wanted to if you realized your emotions have never controlled the actions your body takes, it was always you enforcing this belief to yourself thousands of times that made it true you are powerful your brain is powerful if you'd stop hurting it all the time and expecting it not to break and then being even MORE frustrated if you had a kid you loved more than anything, a daughter or a son, would you give them a phone and tell them to scroll ? no because you KNOW how life ruining it is there's no excuse. go do something else if you want to live happily you need to love yourself enough to stand up for yourself

you’re allowed to do creative stuff even if you don’t think you’re good at them. do it because it moves something stuck inside you. because creativity isn’t about being impressive, it’s about being expressive. create badly. create awkwardly. that’s not failure, that’s freedom.
