Something to celebrate. Looks like 41 % of UK MPs are women. When I first started researching women’s representation the proportion was about 3 %. It was less that 5 % throughout the 1980s, fewer than 10 % until 1997. Next stop 60%.

However, the lack of transparency of very large online platforms, the increase in disinformation spread, and the political elite's hostile speech towards media and individual journalists pose new challenges and contribute to threats to media freedom.
