One of the more interesting camp battles for the Commanders this offseason is at left guard. Chris Paul beat out Brandon Coleman on performance alone last season, but Coleman might be a better fit for David Blough's new scheme. I broke it all down: open.substack.com/pub/markbu…

Kinda how I felt it might have gone if he had been there.
"I thought I was locked in on the Commanders (at 7)." Carnell Tate speaks on his NFL Draft experience, noting that he didn't expect to go as high as No. 4 to the Titans 🏈

It's kind of hilarious how Grant Cohn is a Brandon Aiyuk champion suddenly now that we know he's not going to be a 49er. Cuz this was Grant when he thought Aiyuk would be a 49er for a long time. A shock to nobody who actually knows how the guy works.

Since when has Cohn been a reliable source for 49ers info? Isn’t he a known troll that hates Shanahan and deliberately goes against the team to try and create controversy?
49ers SI reporter @grantcohn was on with @BMitchandFinlay and gave his thoughts on why the Brandon Aiyuk situation went nuclear: He says SF has a "frat boyish, corporate" culture where you have to "bend the knee," and Aiyuk refused. "De'Vondre Campbell straight up quit the team mid-game a couple of years ago and people called him crazy, but it's like when it's one guy after another, it makes you feel like there's a clique of in-group players on this team, and then there's everyone else." Highly recommend watching the full interview as Grant provides a ton of insight on the situation. Full interview will be linked in the replies. 🎥: @BMitchandFinlay | #RaiseHail #FreeAiyuk

If Blough is running the offense we're expecting, then attacking the middle of the field will definitely be something Jayden has to do a lot more of. He was a little off on those throws in 2025, sometimes slightly high, sometimes slightly behind. But I expect him to correct that
Replying to @MarkBullockNFL
What's your confidence level in Daniels with regard to attacking the intermediate, middle part of the field? Feels like something he'll be asked to attack more in the offensive system.

Probably my biggest concern with the Commanders roster as it stands. In theory, Amos and Sainristil do fit with Jones did with his CBs in Minnesota. That system protects the CBs quite a bit too. But no sure thing in that room right now

Are you worried about the corner room? Except Amos, even him still has to prove a lot, other ones, seem very shaky.

Think the Garrett trade was good for all parties involved (apart from Verse). Definitely think we could see some pistol as a way to get benefits of both under center and shotgun. Wrote about under center vs shotgun today: open.substack.com/pub/markbu…

Non-Commanders wise what do you think of Verse/ The Myles Garrett trade? Commanders wise are they/ do you think they'll use any pistol formation on offense?

This is a really good question and one I’m intrigued to see. Burks gives them size and catch radius on the outside, Williams gives them quickness inside but may lack the veteran savvy Ertz brought. McLaurin could get some more looks. Run game could be a factor too

With Ertz gone, who's the best candidate to take over all those red zone targets?

Assuming they use some of the 3 safety package stuff that the Vikings did last year, I could see Quan moving around into different spots to disguise looks. Can play deep, can play big nickel, can play in the box. They’ll value that versatility

Where do you see Quam Martin contributing in the hypothetical 2026 Washington defense?

There's been a lot of talk this offseason about the Commanders getting under center more often with new OC David Blough. But why do they want to do that and why did Kliff Kingsbury prefer using the shotgun? I broke down the merits of both looks: open.substack.com/pub/markbu…

Lots of buzz lately about Treylon Burks being the Commanders WR2. So I broke down some 2023 Lions film and looked at Burks skillset to see if he’s a good fit for the system we’re expecting new OC David Blough to run: open.substack.com/pub/markbu…

Might be his first year as an OC, but he's already mastered the Dan Quinn presser technique of using a lot of words to say nothing at all

The Commanders suddenly have a lot of ILB depth with Styles, Chenal, Luvu and Magee all fighting for playing time. Will it just be 2 of them starting or can Daronte Jones find ways to get a 3rd LB on the field? I took a closer look: open.substack.com/pub/markbu…
