This is a great practical addition to the online Acute and HMV course. Suitable for anyone within the MDT who has some NIV experience but wants to know more!

Everyone is welcome to fill out this survey. Whether you frequently or infrequently use monitoring with NIV. Will be interesting to see people’s views on patient ventilator asynchrony and what tools they need or don’t need. Fill it in and retweet to spread the word!
A survey about monitoring! we would be interested to know if we are useful 😅 and to prepare the future for you ! forms.gle/HXG7wz8qzB8rqzJ57

I did a one week locum as a medical house officer as a final year medical student in 1982. It was fantastic experience and a (the) highlight of six years at medical school. #winwin
Medical students have helped with>700 shifts on our AMU at peak busy periods (evenings and weekends) in 2022. Made a massive difference to flow and they got paid. Win win @acutemedicine

So sad to hear this. I met Randy a couple of times. What a nice and gentle man. His writing and research were so useful to me in my career. ALS is such a cruel illness. What a legacy he leaves.
Dr. Randy Curtis @uwpccm was courageous after hearing of his diagnosis with ALS. He passed away Feb. 6 and had a huge impact @UWMedicine and in the field of #PalliativeCare. He shared his journey in 2021 with @TedLandK5 @KING5Seattle. Watch his story: king5.com/amp/article/news/h…

That is very kind of you Neil. Of course one of the many things that makes being a Dr such a great job is working with very talented trainees and then seeing them go on to make a great success of their own careers.

My greatest job ever was being your PRHO. Learnt everything I still do now about how to practice. And also how to be a gent from the master himself @MarkE278

I loved being a PRHO (FY1). I was part of a great ward team and it was good to be contributing rather than mostly just observing as a student: 1st to see patient, take decisions, talk to relatives, organising, etc. I learnt so much. I also loved being a (Med) SHO, Reg, SR & Cons
First Job: Lab technician Current job: Grandfather Worst job: PRHO (=FY1) medicine Dream job: Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with interest in TB.
