A big sigh of relief - after much uncertainty, the Natural History GCSE has finally been given the green light by the Government.
It is arguably *the* most impactful opportunity we have to teach my generation how to protect, restore and reconnect our ecosystems for the future.
Good news! Ministers have finally given green light to new #NaturalHistory GCSE. Big hats off to tireless advocate Mary Colwell 🙌 Now young people will be able to get to know & love the natural world & gain vital skills to protect it @curlewcalls🌷🌳 🦅🦡 theguardian.com/education/20…

“The fundamental problem we have in this country is that we’re building on 40 years of deindustrialisation topped off by 15 years of austerity - which the Labour government hasn’t done enough to address.” Sarah Wakefield, Green Candidate for Makerfield on BBC Question Time last night

Personally I’d welcome a broad, inclusive coalition as being proposed here. I’m going to refrain from criticising other parties for exploring various options during what are difficult negotiations.
Did you know about the story of the Leicester Balloon Riot? In 1864 50,000 people turned up in Leicester to watch the launch of a new type of hot air balloon in Victoria Park by famous aeronaut Henry Tracey Coxwell.
