Wow! great data; I wonder if you will see flow on effect to reef communities...

Bugger!
The much-anticipated map of the aerial surveys conducted by @aims_gov_au and @gbrmarinepark during the 2022 mass #coral #bleaching is finally out. Reefs with no bleaching are in 🔵

Well done to Bridie and all those keen early career researchers you are fostering. Science that makes a difference.
Over the past few months, I've had 4 students submit their MSc theses. They've been drilling down on the effects of #microplastic ingestion on behavior, metabolism, gut morphology, oxidative damage and neurophysiology. I'm so proud of them & can't wait to see where they go next!

We're very proud of this one. It involves some very complex field manipulations of interactions between a generalist and specialist on a coral reef. How important is it to arrive first when the quality of the habitat is degrading? rdcu.be/cGWOu

Naively, I thought this was what science was about. Collaboration, conversation, professional respect. Am I wrong?

The best time to argue about what a replication means? Before you do it. Perhaps an intervention is needed in the OA behavior debate where a collaborative process will help resolve more amicably? For better science? nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

This is not what a #CoralReef should look like - #CoralBleaching has devastated large areas of #Taiwan with the majority in the southern islands. We are here to monitor the recovery over the next 10 months to further understand the consequences of such events #ClimateChange

It has been a bad week for marine biology, we lost three of our best: one the fathers in ecology, Joe Connell, and legends Dave Williams and Peter Fairweather. The world is a duller place without you! ⁦@CoralCoE⁩
