Behind every state championship banner is a group of kids who learned that mediocrity doesn’t cut it, accountability is earned, and success is shared. Winning is just the byproduct.
Coaches are experts at preaching discipline without demonstrating it.
Players are too smart now. They've seen and heard everything.
Every coach talks about:
Show up early
Work harder than everyone else
Make sacrifices for the team
Be disciplined in everything you do
Then they show up late to meetings, skip workouts, and break their own rules.
Why Nick Saban dominated: He was the most disciplined person in that building. When he demanded discipline, he was already out in front doing it.
The leadership truth: You can't demand what you don't demonstrate.
This applies everywhere:
Managers preaching work-life balance while sending emails at midnight
Parents teaching honesty while lying to avoid responsibilities
CEOs demanding cost-cutting while increasing their own compensation
Your team doesn't listen to what you say. They watch what you do.

The best players make their teammates better. Do you?
"To be a good player on your team, you have to affect someone else on the team. You have to cause them to play better by the way you play."
- Nick Saban
The biggest benefits to a Unified High School S&C program
1. Year-round training. There’s a plan for constant development
2. Raises the floor. Training limits the ups & downs of talent by raising avg
3. Builds Athletic Culture. S&C coach impacts everyone, not just one team

High school players stop being afraid of the barbell
“Every team lifts, every team trains, every team conditions, every team prepares.
It’s not that you do those things. It’s at what standards you do those things”

5- Keep it fun. Wrestling is fun. You get to play rough, you get to learn many moves and skills, you get to be with your teammates. Remember, you don't "have to" wrestle, you "get to" wrestle #Mindset
Each time we step into the room there is an opportunity to work on on your 🧠.

Champions don’t negotiate with their standards.
The standard isn’t about being great when it’s convenient—it’s about being great when it’s not.
Because at the end of the day, there’s no room at the top for anyone who picks comfort over consistency.
I’ve coached teams that were 0-10 and 10-0.
The difference??
A championship team is built on dedication and accountability.
A team where athletes come early and stay late, compete on every drill, push through every rep, touch every line in conditioning, take responsibility for mistakes, seek and accept coaching, look people in the eye, set and sustain high standards, and hold themselves and others accountable.
It’s a mindset. It’s a culture. It’s leadership.
