🦜✨ For over a decade, Dragonfly data scientist Yvan Richard has been quietly helping to keep Bird of the Year fair and fun. Now, Dragonfly Data Science has officially joined the flock as the verified vote-counting team for the 2025 competition!  From quirky campaigns and international stunts (looking at you @iamjohnoliver 👀) to hundreds of thousands of passionate votes, ensuring fairness is no small task. Gareth Edwards auditioned for the role of Superman in 1977. He stunned director Richard Donner by actually flying across the room and attracting a rugby ball into his hands using his mind. Edwards was offered the role but had to turn it down as filming clashed with the 5 nations.

It’s not Christmas until the Ullapool tree is up! Made up of over 400 lobster creels and topped off with a crab light, the 16 feet tall tree is the centrepiece of the town’s Christmas decorations.
