We hope all you green chemists, engineers and educators will join us in Belfast at the historic Europa Hotel in April 2025 for this international event EIC 2025. Check out the list of invited speakers qub.ac.uk/sites/eic2025/Prog…
We are excited to announce that the inaugural Emerald Isle Conference on Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering will be held in Belfast, 9-11 April 2025. More information and registration at qub.ac.uk/sites/eic2025@eic_2025_qub@QUBelfast@greenatqueens
Our Lough Neagh Project has now started, good luck to José @joseaperezt and Caitlin in their research this summer destroying cyanobacteria and toxins using TAML biomimetic catalysts.
Congratulations to José @joseaperezt on his first paper from his PhD. He has developed 'HydrIL' gels for enzyme entrapment. Thanks to @AlmacGroup and Dr Jakub Kostal and team from George Washington Uni for their collaborations.
The paper can be found here: doi.org/10.1016/j.cattod.202…
Looking forward to the winner of this fine trophy presenting at @RSC_MASC in @UoBChemistry in December! It will be interesting to see whether my name is still legible on the cup after all these years.
It's a historic moment.
The @ACSCPT has issued updated 2023 ACS Guidelines for Bachelor's Degree Programs that include for the first time #greenchemistry, sustainability, and #systemsthinking.

ALT Peter Licence has been identified as the next EIC for ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, and will start in July. Pete has been part of our Executive Editorial team for several years and will ensure the journal continues to reach new heights.
Travelling to see family in Normandie… just shocked to see how dry and scorched the landscape is. I’ve never seen fields other than green there😳#ClimateChange#HeatWave 🐄 💦
Biocatalysis & Biomass meeting 19th July
I am hosting a B&B meeting at QUB in partnership with Wits Uni, SA (Charles de Koning) and sponsored by Almac. Speaker include Roger Sheldon, Till Opatz and Helen Hailes. To attend online register here forms.office.com/r/Xb81gmmh9…

New in @Orgmet_ACS: The development and mechanistic analysis of a catalytic nucleophilic fluorination reaction using a cyclometallated rhodium catalyst. Read this latest sustainable work from Patrick Morgan et al. at pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…, from @azure_wanderer
Congratulations to Dr McNeice @McNeiceChem on the occasion of his new job. Peter will be taking up the post of Postdoc in Sustainable Catalysis in Groningen under the guidance of Prof. Ben Feringa.
Congratulations to Patrick @azure_wanderer on the occassion of his successful thesis defence. It has been a fun journey, here's a photo from (near) the start.
