As the Chairman of the House Higher Education Committee, I frequently have the opportunity to meet with the students of our University System. Working together and investing in higher education, our best days are ahead for HD-49 and the state of Georgia! #YourHometownVoice
Standing room only for further than this Apple camera can capture to be with @RickJacksonGA as he “attacks the day” to “finish the drill” to be our nominee to beat Keisha Lance and stop her from taking us to the “Bottom”.
It’s Election Day for Georgians!
The ballot is long,to participate in the judicial elections one has to get to the end of the ballot; “Finish the Drill” and join me in supporting these outstanding judges and justices!

In 2022, I worked on HB 1437, the landmark legislation that began Georgia’s transition to a lower flat income tax rate.
Today, HB 463 builds on that success by accelerating Georgia’s income tax rate below 5% ahead of schedule for tax year 2026 — while creating a path toward 3.99%.
HB 463 also raises the standard and personal deductions for Georgia families and increases retirement income exclusions for seniors.
Georgians should keep more of their hard-earned money.

The Georgia House has passed HB 962.
This legislation expands college savings options for Georgia families and gives parents more flexibility when planning for their children’s future.
Here’s what the bill does and why it matters. 🧵
That means:
✅ More flexibility for families
✅ More competition among college savings plans
✅ The same Georgia tax benefit families rely on
Parents should be able to choose the plan that works best for their financial goals.
Today, Georgia’s state tax deduction for college savings applies only to contributions made to the state-run 529 plan.
HB 962 fixes that.
Under this bill, Georgia families can receive the same state tax deduction when contributing to any qualified 529 college savings plan.
Late night at the Capitol.
Started before 7:00 AM. Wrapped up after 9:30 PM.
Three initiatives I sponsored passed the House:
✅ Expanding opportunities for families to save for college
✅ Protecting Georgia’s elections from foreign influence
✅ Modernizing Georgia’s statewide 9-1-1 system
More details later today. Back at it this morning.

The House passed key education priorities, strengthening literacy, expanding HOPE access, recruiting teachers, growing career academies, and increasing after-school opportunities.
Georgia is also returning $2B to Georgia taxpayers in the form of one-time refunds paid directly to taxpayers and homeowners' tax relief grants to lower the property tax burden, all while cutting the income tax rate to 4.99%.
Proud to serve Alpharetta, Milton & Roswell.

Hey @WHOOP serving in the Georgia General Assembly keeps me busy, left my battery behind and my string of days (1583) was in jeopardy. These folks found a battery, I’m charging again. Whoop!
Great turnout at Commissioner Bridget Thorne’s kickoff.
She’s a strong voice for taxpayers on the Fulton County Commission - fighting for transparency, accountability, and responsible spending.
Proud to support her re-election, @1fultonthorne#FultonCounty#TaxpayerAdvocate
