Having driven a Kia e-Niro and a Ford Fiesta ST in the last few days, it's remarkable how dangerously overpowered recent cars are. Nobody needs anything like that kind of performance if they intend to travel safely on the public highway.
After 24h of intense politics, a pause to reflect and give my thanks and admiration to @CarolineLucas for 14 years of dedication as an MP, and for helping set up the current success of the Green Party. Big shoes to fill, @sianberry - you've got this! ✊🏽
As is tradition, "accidentally" found myself on the final straight of the London To Brighton ride with the kids on tow. Bailed out before the finish line, let the proper riders take the glory. 😬
I wondered how long it would be before I read on social media some conspiracy theory about Brighton's Royal Albion Hotel being set on fire deliberately to force through the redesign on the Sea Life Centre junction. Stop the clock at 07:00 this morning.
What we consider normal: a school having to spend money on signs to remind parents that parking on zig-zags is illegal (£100 and 3 points) and endangers the whole school population.
Finally decided to switch to @bt_uk broadband, as they have good offers that expire tonight. Except someone's pulled the plug on their website early, so I can't sign up any more. Oh well.
Finished a work meeting today wishing everyone a peaceful night before Epiphany and hoping that get all the presents they wished for, just to enjoy everyone's confused reactions.
Shout out to everyone in the IT world struggling to remember how to do their job after the Chrstmas break.
A good chance to reconsider "do my processes have adequate safeguards?".
People: "What Elon is doing to Twitter is an outrage, I'm going to move to an alternative platform, I can handle it being more complicated."
Same people: [can't even spell Mastodon]
Excellent work KSAR keeping us safe and on the right path at yesterday's @TheBHF London to Brighton off-road ride! Always makes me smile seeing Search & Rescue volunteers getting the job done.
@TheBHF KSAR’s team members, family and friends are looking forward to supporting #l2b bike ride tomorrow. 80 Marshal Points covered, mammoth planning and efforts being made by all, cheering on the riders and keeping them safe. Lots of yellow high viz! Good luck all #Volunteers
To celebrate 18 years of living in Brighton, I'm finally going to take part in a London-to-Brighton bike ride, off road, TOMORROW!
Please consider using my pedalling as an excuse to donate a bit of money for the British Heart Foundation's excellent work.
