No better PR for walkable cities than the celebration videos coming out of New York.

It’s noteworthy that almost every example you see of NYC reaching epic levels during this Knicks run involves human beings taking over spaces usually devoted to cars. 🤷
The party on 7th Avenue got shut down so New York Knicks fans just moved to 6th Avenue 😅😂

Yeah I’d trade the winter we just had for this weather 10 times out of 10. It sucks!!!

Urban density is key! My critique is that this is an absurdly wide intersection that has just been temporarily repurposed. A city built for people rather than cars would have permanent pedestrian plazas and streets too narrow for cars

The Carroll Street bridge in Gowanus will reopen on Monday, for pedestrians and bikes only!!! Thank you @BrooklynCB6, @CMShahanaHanif, and @NYC_DOT for making this happen!!

After a five-year reconstruction, Gowanus’s odd and charming Carroll Street retractile bridge reopens on June 15. It’s one of only a couple of retracting bridges left in the U.S., and this time, it will only be open to pedestrians and cyclists. curbed.com/article/carroll-s…

Just a massive elevated highway, 6 lanes of surface traffic, and parking as far as the eye can see.

Tow capacity exists when we want it to.
If you left your car parked outside of MSG you better grab it now because they are towing everyone.

Last summer, we spotlighted this empty Staples parking lot in our first @YesOnAffHousing video. Then, it was impossible to build homes there. Now, after the ballot measures, 292 homes. therealdeal.com/new-york/202…
New Yorkers: After voting for candidates who will fight for affordability on the front of your November ballots, flip↩️your ballot to fight for affordability yourself by voting YES on Affordable Housing Ballot Measures 2-5!

Those charter reforms are miraculous.
A 292-unit project in Bay Ridge, where no housing has been added for ages, is likely to happen because of charter reforms approved by voters in November therealdeal.com/new-york/202…

Mamdani and Flynn need to re-protect this lane now
Double parkers and recidivist speeders collided (literally) on a stretch of Bedford Avenue last night, underscoring how dangerous the roadway has become since the city removed a protected bike lane at the behest of local leaders. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/06/…

This is so much better than streets clogged with cars! New Yorkers long for large plazas. Let’s build some!
Just shut down the whole perimeter of 34th-31st 7th/8th ave until further notice
