Pleased to share our results in @NatureMedicine using CAR-macrophages against solid tumors in this FIH trial. CAR-M were safe and showed tumor immunomodulatory activity in heavily pretreated pts. Great to work with @KReissMD and all authors! @PennCancer
Grateful to #ASH2024 for the chance to present our work on overcoming the absence of CD2:CD58 co-stimulation using an innovative PD1:iCD2 switch receptor. Thanks to my mentor @MarcoRuella and the @RuellaLab for their invaluable support. Excited to delve deeper into this approach!
The main work of my PhD, truly a multi-team/disciplinary story, is out today in @NatImmunol. We show that the BTLA-HVEM immune checkpoint is enriched in the tumor microenvironment and blunts CAR T cell function. High BTLA in patient CART19 → poor outcome. nature.com/articles/s41590-0…
@Mat_Angelos from our @RuellaLab presenting for the for the first time a novem CD2 deleted CART2 for T-ALL: High preclinical efficacy against primary leukemias #ASH23@PennMedicine
Check out our phase 1 CAR-M study in progress at the Developmental Therapeutics session Sunday AM. Excited to meet you at 327b and discuss other new cell therapy work at #ASCO2022@KReissMD
🔬 Can macrophages be harnessed to #CARTherapy to fight solid tumors?
@KReissMD presents on a first-in-human study of the anti-HER2 CAR macrophage CT-0508 in patients with #HER2 overexpressing solid tumors: spr.ly/6017znKjJ#ASCO22#CARM
Feel like there should be a greater emphasis on understanding when/how to implement appropriate statistical methods and improve study designs than just simply lowering the significance threshold...

Great approach for grad student training at Hopkins. Programming and bioinformatics work was some of the most creative and formative parts of my research; would be great to see this emphasized in more biological science programs. x.com/nature/status/96651288…
Many doctoral curricula aim to produce narrowly focused researchers rather than critical thinkers. That can and must change, says Gundula Bosch go.nature.com/2Ew4qb9
Starting up my first Twitter page! Excited to use this as a platform to disseminate thought-provoking, evidence-based, and informative content. Hope to include a lot of science, medicine, medical education, STEM career development, and some other personal interests!
